Diana Zuckerman

Spanish Language and Culture

Diana Zuckerman has been a Spanish teacher for grades K-12 in the New York State public school system, where she has been teaching Spanish language and culture since 1998. She has been teaching languages K-adult for over 30 years in the US and Spain. Diana produced and recorded five Spanish music CDs with her 5th grade FLEX students. She has been teaching Spanish Language Immersion for Beginners at Omega Institute in Rhinebeck, NY, since 2013.

Diana currently serves on the ACTFL (American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages) Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee. She was the NYS Representative for NNELL (National Network for Early Language Learning), served as the President of ALOUD (Association of Language Teachers of Orange, Ulster, Dutchess and Greene Counties), was the Mid-Hudson Regional Director of NYSAFLT (New York State Association For Language Teachers), and held the position of Advocacy Chair for NYSAFLT. Diana also served on the NYSUT (New York State United Teachers) World Language Subject Area Committee.

Diana holds a B.A. in Spanish and Psychology and an M.S. in Education Secondary Spanish from SUNY New Paltz. She is certified Spanish N/Pre K-12. Diana lived in Spain for seven years and has traveled extensively in South America, Central America, North America, and Europe. Diana frequently travels to Cusco, Peru to visit her son and grandson and eats at her son’s popular restaurant Something Special Cusco.
